When I first got invited to go back to Dubai after almost 7/8 years since I last visited, I was thrilled and so excited! This city keeps on changing so fast that even when someone else tries to describe you how much it has improved and grown it’s truly difficult to understand it unless you go there by yourself. So having such an ambitious fashion project curated by Vogue Italia made possible to experience Dubai again in a complete and unique way. At this point most likely you’ve heard of Who’s on Next, a design initiative to promote emerging talents in the fashion industry created by Franca Sozzani, that has now taken over other countries.
Vogue Dubai Fashion Experience, took place over a couple of days in the city on its third and consecutive year, where 25 finalists from Who’s on Next showcased their designs on a live runway, hosted at the Dubai Mall, all completed with lectures from fashion influencers and designers like Miroslava Duma, Christian Louboutin and many more with the support of the Dubai Design & Fashion council.
We stayed nearby the Dubai Mall at The Address downtown, right near the Burj Khalifa building, which is meant to be the tallest building in the world. We enjoyed lunch and dinner at the Armani restaurant during our stay located at the same building, and with te best views in town! (Don’t forget to check the One and Only for the perfect dinner, we enjoyed a great evening hosted by Tabitha Simons on our first night in Dubai in partnership with Level shoe District).
During the last day took place one of the most awaited events of the programme, the EMAAR Vogue gala dinner where awards were given to the finalists from Who’s On Next. I had the absolute pleasure to be dressed and be a guest at Alberta Ferreti’s table. It was a beautiful evening catching up with Alberta herself and even got to meet my table roomies Karmen Kass and her boyfriend who couldn’t help to dance to Aisha performed by Khaled right after Carla Bruni’s private gig on stage. I wore a white dress by Alberta Ferretti, with a
Nathalie Trad clutch, who is one of the finalists of Who’s on Next, and who I had the pleasure to shoot an editorial for Emirates Woman coming soon! All mixed with a beautiful gold headpiece by Aura.
But before flying back home and in the middle of all tis fun, I had the absolute pleasure to DJ at Level shoe District, the largest shoe heaven on earth! Apart from dancing to Drake and Whitney Houston, guest *including myself , tried on the latest selection of the coolest shoes on earth, and believe me when I say i haven’t seen anything like it, you could totally lose yourself there for a whole day, and it’s also located at the Dubai Mall.
